CDS, Gen. Christopher Musa to be Honored with Democracy Newsline Newspaper’s Exemplary Leadership Award

The Nigeria Chief of Defense Staff, General Musa Gwabin Christopher, is set to be honored with the Exemplary Leadership Award by Democracy Newsline Newspaper to mark its 15th anniversary of publication.
According to a press statement signed by the publisher and CEO, Chief Olugbemi Femi, General Musa’s exceptional leadership has been recognized, particularly the successes recorded against insurgency, banditry, and terrorism by the military under his watch.
He further noted that the award recognizes his outstanding leadership skills and contributions to the fight against insecurity in Nigeria.
He said the award will be presented during the 15th Public Lecture and Award Ceremony scheduled for August 26, 2025, added that the ceremony will take place at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja by 5pm and it will feature a Red Carpet Ceremony, main event, and dinner program.
The theme of the event is “The Role of Independent Media Organizations in Promoting Participatory Democracy and Good Governance in Nigeria.”
The occasion will also mark the launch of a ₦100 million fund for the procurement of podcast studio equipment and the establishment of Democracy Newsline Newspaper Online Television. This initiative aims to further promote democracy and good governance in Nigeria.
The award ceremony promises to be a significant event, bringing together leaders and stakeholders to discuss important issues and celebrate excellence.
