DG, DSS, Mr Tosin Ajayi to be Honored with Special Recognition Award

The Director General, Department of State Security (DSS), Mr Tosin Ajayi is set to receive a special recognition of Excellent Public Service Leadership Award by Democracy Newsline Newspaper to mark its 15th anniversary of its publication.
According to a press statement signed by the publisher and CEO, Chief Olugbemi Femi, Mr Ajayi’s exceptional leadership has been recognized, particularly in coordinating the activities of the department to combat insecurity across the country.

He said the award is a recognition of his outstanding leadership skills and contributions to the great successes that have been recorded against the insurgency, banditry, and terrorism since he was appointed by President Bola Tinubu about one year ago.
Initiating notable reforms like releasing suspects who were unjustly detained and providing compensation to victims of mistake identity or Abuse, focusing on enhancing internal security and addressing existing and emerging threats across the country, these and more earned you the prestigious recognition.
He further said that the award will be presented during the 15th Public Lecture and Award Ceremony scheduled for August 26, 2025, adding that the ceremony will take place at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja, by 5pm and will feature a Red Carpet Ceremony, main event, and dinner program.
The theme of the event is “The Role of Independent Media Organizations in Promoting Participatory Democracy and Good Governance in Nigeria.”
The occasion will also mark the launch of a ₦100 million fund for the procurement of podcast studio equipment and the establishment of Democracy Newsline Newspaper Online Television. This initiative aims to further promote democracy and good governance in Nigeria.
The award ceremony promises to be a significant event, bringing together leaders and stakeholders to discuss important issues and celebrate excellence.
