COCIN, LCC1 Nukpis,2024 Service of Nine Lessons and Carol.

The 2024 Christmas Celebration has begun in grand style,As the Church of Christ in Nations,COCIN, LCC1, Nukpis staged a colourful and Unique Christmas Carol and Nine Lessons at the Church auditorium. During the Sunday Church service on Sunday,8th of August,2024.

The event which was organized by Church’s Choir and dresses in their adorable robes and gowns,supported by orchestra instruments to the admiration of the Congregation and dignitaries that came from all walks of life to catch the glimpse of their eyes and glorifies God’s name.

 

The choristers were led by the R.C.C Choir master,Mr. Jonathan Bitrus Kaze and other Leaders.

Other Church groups like the Church Band, Asharwa,Men Fellowship and women Fellowship made their presentations to the glory of God Almighty and in support of the program.

LCC1 Nukpis is located in Nukpis Village,beside gate 2 of Jos University Teaching Hospital Permanent Site.

The LCC is one of the LCCs that comprise of The Famous Regional Church Council,Jos Jarawa.

Highlights of the event includes the reading of nine lessons by the readers who were strategically arranged.

The first lesson titled the fall of man,took place from the book of Genesis chapter 3:8-15.

Second lesson. The promise of Messiah. Genesis 22:15-18.

Lesson 3: The prophecy of the Savour’s Birth. Isaiah 9:2,6-7.

The fourth lesson titled the Peaceful Kingdom was from the book of Isaiah 11:1-9.

5th lesson. The Birth of Jesus foretold ( Luke.1:26-38.

Lesson 6.themed the Birth of Jesus: Luke 2:1-7.

Lesson 7.The shepherd go to the manger. Luke 2:8-16.

Lesson 8: The wise men are led to Jesus by a star.

While the 9th lesson was with the topic. The incarnation (John 1:1-14 .

The Sermon came from Rev. Bulus Arin,the Leading Pastor of the Church and read from the Book of Isaiah Chapter 9:6.

Titled Christmas Celebration.

The Christmas is from the two words. Chris and mass. Chris means annointed one and mass means Celebration. Therefore, Christmass is about celebrating Christ Jesus.

Christmass Carol according to him,started from King’s College in Canterbury in London in 1880. And the significance of reading the lessons is to inspire the believers to understand the root and foundation of Jesus Christ.Rev. Arin also stated that, Prophet Isaiah brought the good news and message to Israelites that a child will be born and government will be on his shoulders.

He decried the government of today that’s characterised by munumental corruption because the government is not taking its steps from the word of God.
