Senator Garba Musa Maidoki, representing the Kebbi South Senatorial District under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has expressed his profound grief and heartfelt condolences to the good people of Makuku Ward in Sakaba Local Government Area of Kebbi State, following the tragic security incident reportedly involving bandits in the area.
The incident, which occurred yesterday, reportedly resulted in the loss of the lives of some security personnel and civilians. Senator Maidoki expressed deep sorrow over the unfortunate development and extended his condolences to the Nigeria Police Force, other affected security personnel, the civilian victims, and, most importantly, the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives.
Senator Maidoki described the incident as a devastating loss that has brought immense pain not only to the affected families but also to the entire people of Makuku Ward, Sakaba Local Government Area, and the wider Kebbi South Senatorial District.
“At this difficult moment of grief, our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Makuku and the entire Sakaba community. We stand with you in sorrow, sympathy, and prayers. The loss of innocent lives and those who dedicated themselves to protecting our communities is a painful tragedy that affects us all.”
As the Senator representing Kebbi South, Senator Garba Musa Maidoki said he remains deeply concerned about the worsening security challenges affecting communities across the district. He stressed that the people of Sakaba should not be left alone to face such difficult circumstances and assured them of his solidarity during this period of mourning.
Senator Maidoki and the ADC family expressed their profound concern over the security situation in the area, emphasizing the urgent need for stronger and more effective measures to protect the lives and property of citizens.
He called on the relevant authorities at both the Kebbi State and Federal Government levels to intensify efforts to secure communities, particularly vulnerable rural areas, and to ensure that security personnel are adequately supported with the resources and capacity required to protect the people.
Senator Maidoki also urged the Kebbi State Government under Governor Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu) and the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to treat the security situation in Kebbi State and Kebbi South as a matter requiring urgent and sustained attention.
He further expressed concern over remarks attributed to the Chairman of Sakaba Local Government Area, reportedly suggesting that there was no significant security challenge in the area. Senator Maidoki said the reported attack and loss of lives demonstrate, in his view, the need for authorities to acknowledge the concerns of communities and respond decisively to security threats.
He therefore called on the Local Government Chairman to reconsider and clarify his earlier position on the security situation, stressing that the safety of citizens must remain the foremost responsibility of every level of government.
According to Senator Maidoki, the recent tragedy should serve as a wake-up call for all stakeholders to strengthen intelligence gathering, improve collaboration between communities and security agencies, and take proactive measures to prevent further attacks.
Senator Garba Musa Maidoki prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased, grant them eternal mercy, and make Aljannatul Firdaus their final abode.
He also prayed that Allah grant the bereaved families, relatives, friends, security agencies, and the entire people of Makuku and Sakaba the strength, patience, and fortitude to bear this painful loss.
He further prayed for the protection and safety of all security personnel and civilians across Kebbi State, asking Almighty Allah to grant security agencies courage, wisdom, and success in their efforts to protect innocent lives.
Senator Maidoki called on all relevant stakeholders to work together towards bringing an end to banditry, insecurity, and violence in Kebbi South, Kebbi State, and Nigeria as a whole, so that communities can live in peace, safety, and dignity.
May Almighty Allah forgive those who lost their lives, comfort their families, protect our communities, and restore lasting peace and security to Makuku, Sakaba, Kebbi South, Kebbi State, and Nigeria. Ameen.
