Council Leader, Hon. Mrs. Comfort Obaromi of Odolu Ward, Charges Citizens to Embrace Ongoing PVC Registration as a Civic Duty and Pathway to Development
The Councilor representing Odolu Ward and Leader of Councilors in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs. Comfort Obaromi, has called on the people of Odolu Ward, Kabba/Bunu LGA, and beyond to take the ongoing Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) registration exercise seriously.
Speaking as both a representative and a grassroots leader, Hon. Obaromi emphasized that the PVC is not just a requirement for voting, but the greatest democratic weapon of the people. “Your PVC is your power, your right, and your future. INEC does not count prayers, emotions, or speeches on election day – it only counts votes. That is why everyone must make sure they are registered and ready,” she stated.
She further explained that leadership and development are determined by the will of the people, expressed through the ballot. According to her, failing to register or vote amounts to surrendering one’s right and voice to others who may not represent their true interest.
Hon. Obaromi, in her capacity as Council Leader, urged her fellow councilors across Kabba/Bunu LGA to also join hands in sensitizing their wards, noting that massive voter participation is the only way the people can guarantee good governance. She stressed that a politically active citizenry is the strongest pillar of democracy.
She also appealed specifically to women, youths, and first-time voters not to delay in getting registered, highlighting that many elections have been decided by very slim margins. “Do not underestimate your one vote – that single vote can be the deciding factor between progress and stagnation,” she added.
Hon. Obaromi called on community leaders, traditional rulers, and religious organizations in Odolu Ward to mobilize their people, stressing that civic responsibility is a collective task that must not be neglected.
In conclusion, she reaffirmed her commitment to inclusive governance and grassroots development, assuring her people that their active participation in the electoral process will open doors of opportunity and transformation for Kabba/Bunu Local Government.
“The future of our children and our communities lies in our hands. Let us rise, register, and secure our tomorrow with our PVCs,” she declared.
