Hon. Mrs. Folorunsho Blessing Urges Citizens of Odo-Akete Bolorunduro Ward and Kabba/Bunu LGA to Participate Actively in Ongoing PVC Registration
The Councilor representing Odo-Akete Bolorunduro Ward in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs. Folorunsho Blessing, has called on the people of her ward and the good citizens of Kabba/Bunu LGA to come out en masse for the ongoing Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) registration exercise.
Hon. Folorunsho described the PVC as the most important tool in a democratic society, stressing that it remains the only recognized instrument through which citizens can make their voices heard and contribute to the leadership and development of their communities.
In her words: “Your vote is your power, your voice, and your strength. INEC does not count prayers or propaganda during elections, it only counts valid votes. Therefore, those who fail to register and vote give away their power to others to decide their future.”
She noted that democracy thrives when citizens take responsibility, register, and come out to vote. According to her, the destiny of Kabba/Bunu, Okunland, and Kogi State at large is determined by the level of political participation and commitment shown by the people. She further stressed that leadership is too important to be left in the hands of a few, hence everyone must play their part.
Hon. Folorunsho also reminded first-time voters, especially the youth, that their participation is vital in shaping the future they desire. She encouraged them not to underestimate the weight of one vote, pointing out that many elections have been won and lost by very slim margins.
While appealing for massive turnout, she urged community leaders, women, and youth groups to mobilize their members and ensure no eligible voter is left out of the exercise.
She concluded by affirming that a new wave of development, equity, and fairness is only possible when the people decide to use their votes wisely.
