Deacon Olusuyi Otitoju to be Honored with a Prestigious Award for Community Service

Deacon (Hon.) Olusuyi Otitoju, the coordinator of Okun Development Initiative (ODI) and a distinguished son of Okunland, is set to receive a prestigious award on community development by Democracy Newsline Newspaper.
In a statement signed by the publisher and chief executive officer, Chief Olugbemi Femi and made available to journalists in Abuja, described Deacon Olusuyi as a great ambassador of Okun nation especially his coordination for the recent summit held in Kabba, to promote peace and unity among Okun people.
He noted that the award is based on reports from a team of experts who conducted an opinion poll, and the recognition will be bestowed on Deacon (Hon.) Olusuyi Otitoju during the upcoming 15th Public Lecture and Award Ceremony.
The event is scheduled to hold on August 26, 2025, at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja, with the Red Carpet Ceremony commencing at 5pm, while the Main Event will start by 6pm, followed by a dinner program.
The theme of the event is “Role of Independent Media in Promoting Participatory Democracy and Good Governance,” and it will bring together stakeholders to discuss Nigeria’s democratic progress.
The ceremony will also feature a keynote address from a reputable Nigerian and the launch of a N100 million fund for podcast studio equipment and the establishment of Democracy Newsline Newspaper’s online Television station.
