Former President, Visioneer Club Kabba, Ajayi Ibitolu, to receive Community Development Award

Mr. Ajayi Ibitolu, the former President of the Visioneer Club Kabba, in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State, a community leader and Head of Store in the Procurement department, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp, is set to receive a prestigious Community Development Award from Democracy Newsline Newspaper. In a statement signed by the publisher and chief executive officer, Chief Olugbemi Femi, and made available to journalists in Abuja, Mr. Ibitolu was described as an outstanding personality who continues to make meaningful contributions to the development of his origin and host communities. It was also noted that Mr. Ibitolu has continued to assist youths in facilitating employment opportunities and that during his tenure, his club, Visioneer, carried out many programs in health, education, and community services. The award is based on reports from a team of experts who conducted an opinion poll, and the recognition will be bestowed on Mr. Ajayi Ibitolu during the upcoming 15th Public Lecture and Award Ceremony.

The event is scheduled to hold on August 26, 2025, at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja, with the Red Carpet Ceremony commencing at 5pm, while the Main Event will start by 6pm, followed by a dinner program.

The theme of the event is “Role of Independent Media in Promoting Participatory Democracy and Good Governance,” and it will bring together stakeholders to discuss Nigeria’s democratic progress.

The ceremony will also feature a keynote address from a reputable Nigerian and the launch of a N100 million fund for podcast studio equipment and the establishment of Democracy Newsline Newspaper’s online Television station.
