Delta PDP Chair: Let The Best Be Elected, Says Group
A political pressure group, Delta South Pathfinder, has called for the election of acceptable person from the Delta South Senatorial District as the next chairman of the State People Democratic Party (PDP).
In a Press Statement made available to newsmen in Asaba, the group appealed for a smooth transition from the current State Chairman of the PDP to the next one, expected to come from the Delta South Senatorial District.
In the Statement signed by Fred Yeke (President) and Evans Tare (Secretary), they expressed confidence in the ability of the state Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori to give the state widely acceptable PDP Chairman in the state.
According to the Press Statement; “We have been watching with keen interest the race for the election of another Delta State PDP Chairman and we want to appeal to our hard working Governor Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori to give us acceptable and accessible State PDP Chairman that is going to lead us to victory in 2027 general elections”.
“The people of Delta South Senatorial District are one people and so the oneness should be sustained now and after the emergence of the State PDP Chairman. There should be no war between the ethnic groups in Delta South Senatorial District in the process of electing chairman of the party because we are one family”, the group added.
According to the group also; “We want the best to emerge from the Delta South Senatorial District as the next PDP Chairman. Merit, hard work, dedication to the party and loyalty to the system should be used to elect the next PDP Chairman in the state. The process of electing chairman of the party should not be based on ethnicity and we should not play ethnic games in the process so that we can get the best and we know the capacity of the State Governor to give us the best as far as the next chairman of the party is concerned”.
“It should be noted without sentiment that we have a capable hand like Chief Emma Amgbaduba (JP) with proven track record as Delta South PDP Chairman who took the party to enviable heights. Least we forget, capacity has NO space for tribalism. On Oziko we stand”, the group added.
