Democracy Newsline Newspaper to Honor Alhaji Khalifa Abdulrahaman with Special Recognition Award

A distinguished philanthropist and community leader, Alhaji Khalifa Abdulrahaman Okene, is set to receive a Special Recognition Award as part of the activities marking the 15th Anniversary Public Lecture of Democracy Newsline Newspaper.
According to Chief Olugbemi Femi, Publisher and Chief Executive Officer, Alhaji Abdulrahaman’s contributions to the support of vulnerable groups and the overall development of society and humanity have earned him this well-deserved recognition.

He said the award is based on public opinion polls conducted by a team of experts who acknowledged Alhaji Abdulrahaman’s significant contributions to his community, including building a state-of-the-art hotel to upgrade the hospitality sector in Kogi State and other philanthropic gestures.
Chief Olugbemi noted that the award ceremony will take place today, August 26, 2025, at the National Merit House in Abuja, starting at 5pm in the evening.
He said the event will feature a keynote discussion on “The Role of Independent Media Organizations in Promoting Participatory Democracy and Good Governance in Nigeria.”
Additionally, the event will mark the launch of a N100 million fund for the procurement of podcast studio equipment and the establishment of Democracy Newsline Newspaper’s online television.
