Democracy Newsline Newspaper to Honour Commander Jerry Omodara (Rtd), State Security Adviser in Kogi  with “Most Protective State Security Adviser in Nigeria Award 2026”

Democracy Newsline Newspaper_ is set to honour Commander Jerry Omodara (Rtd), the State Security Adviser to the Kogi State Government, with the prestigious “MOST PROTECTIVE STATE SECURITY ADVISER IN NIGERIA AWARD 2026.”

The award recognises Commander Omodara’s exemplary leadership in intelligence coordination, community policing, and crisis prevention, which have contributed significantly to the relative peace and security being enjoyed in Kogi State.

Since his appointment, Commander Omodara has been credited with strengthening collaboration among security agencies, traditional rulers, and community stakeholders. His proactive approach to early warning and response has helped curb kidnapping, banditry, and other criminal activities across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.

Announcing the honour, the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of _Democracy Newsline Newspaper_, Chief Olugbemi Femi, said Commander Omodara was nominated for his unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property in Kogi State.

“Commander Jerry Omodara has demonstrated exceptional dedication to public safety. His strategic leadership and commitment to proactive security management have made Kogi one of the most peaceful states in the country. This award is well deserved,” Chief Femi stated.

The award will be presented on Wednesday, 19th August, 2026 at 5:00pm during the _Democracy Newsline Newspaper_ 16th Public Lecture and Induction into the Good Governance Hall of Fame holding at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja.

The event marks the 27th Anniversary of Uninterrupted Democracy in Nigeria and is themed: “Economic Reform and Sustainable Development in a Democracy: The Nigeria Experience.”

A keynote address will be delivered by Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris, FCA, Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Kogi State.

Chairperson of the occasion is Chief (Mrs) Moji Makanjuola, Veteran Broadcaster.
Special Guest of Honour is Hon. Mohammed Idris, Honourable Minister, Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
Patron is HRH Akogun Isiaq Ajibola, Former MD/CEO, Daily Trust Limited.
Grand Patron is Hon. Durosinmi Meseko, Former Member, Federal House of Representatives.
