DR AHMED ABUBAKAR AUDI, COMMANDANT GENERAL NSCDC, TO RECEIVE PRESTIGIOUS EXEMPLARY PUBLIC SECURITY LEADERSHIP AWARD, AUGUST 19

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, is set to receive the Prestigious Award of Exemplary Public Security Leadership 2026 from DEMOCRACY NEWSLINE Newspaper in recognition of his outstanding contributions to internal security, civil defence, and protection of critical national assets.
The award will be presented to him at the newspaper’s 16th Public Lecture and Induction into the Good Governance Hall of Fame scheduled for Tuesday, 19th August, 2026 at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja at 5:00pm.

The event is being organized to commemorate 27 Years of Uninterrupted Democracy in Nigeria with the theme: “Economic Reforms and Sustainable Development in a Democracy: The Nigerian Experience.”
Announcing the honour, the Publisher /Editor-in-Chief of the Newspaper, Chief Olugbemi Femi, described Dr Audi as a disciplined and visionary security chief whose leadership has repositioned the NSCDC for greater efficiency and public service delivery.
“Under Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi’s leadership, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has recorded remarkable strides in safeguarding critical infrastructure, disaster management, and community-based security. His commitment to professionalism, training, and intelligence-driven operations has earned the Corps renewed public trust,” Chief Femi stated.
Since assuming office, Dr Audi has championed reforms within the Corps, including enhanced welfare for personnel, deployment of technology in surveillance, and closer collaboration with other security agencies to combat banditry, vandalism, and other threats to national security.
Top security chiefs, government officials, traditional rulers, and stakeholders in the security sector are expected to attend the event.
