SHEHU MOHAMMED, CORPS MARSHAL FRSC, TO RECEIVE DISTINGUISHED ROAD SAFETY LEADERSHIP AWARD 2026

The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Shehu Mohammed, MNI, FCA, FCTI, CPFA, is set to receive the Distinguished Road Safety Leadership Award 2026 from DEMOCRACY NEWSLINE Newspaper in recognition of his exceptional leadership in road safety management, traffic administration, and public enlightenment in Nigeria.
The award will be presented to him at the newspaper’s 16th Public Lecture and Induction into the Good Governance Hall of Fame scheduled for Tuesday, 19th August, 2026 at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja at 5:00pm.

The event is being organized to commemorate 27 Years of Uninterrupted Democracy in Nigeria with the theme: “Economic Reforms and Sustainable Development in a Democracy: The Nigerian Experience.”
Announcing the honour, the Publisher /Editor-in-Chief of the Newspaper, Chief Olugbemi Femi, described Corps Marshal Mohammed as a results-driven leader whose reforms have redefined road safety operations and saved thousands of lives on Nigerian roads.
“Since assuming office, Shehu Mohammed has demonstrated professionalism, innovation, and commitment to the FRSC mandate. Through enhanced enforcement, public education, and deployment of technology for traffic management, he has raised the standard of road safety administration in the country,” Chief Femi stated.
Under his leadership, the FRSC has intensified campaigns against dangerous driving, improved emergency response through the National Traffic Radio and rescue services, and strengthened collaboration with stakeholders to reduce road crashes nationwide.
The ceremony will also feature a keynote lecture on “Economic Reforms and Sustainable Development in a Democracy” and the induction of other distinguished Nigerians into the Good Governance Hall of Fame for their contributions to democracy, leadership, and national development.
Stakeholders from the transport sector, security agencies, government officials, and road safety advocates are expected to attend the event.
