Eagle-eyed NCoS officials thwart attempt to smuggle psychoactive drugs into custodial facility
The Nigerian Correctional Service, FCT Command, has apprehended a lady identified as Precious Yusuf who attempted to smuggle substances suspected to be psychoactive drugs into the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kuje, FCT.

This occurred on Tuesday, 9th July, 2024, when the said lady came in the guise of a visitor to one of the inmates. During usual routine search by personnel on duty, items suspected to be cannabis sativa as well as other psychoactive substances were concealed in food packs which were to be handed over to the inmate.
The Controller of Corrections, FCT Command, Ibrahim Usman, has since ordered that the suspect be handed over to the appropriate security agency for further investigation and prosecution.
The Controller hereby warns visitors with such intentions to have a rethink as their machinations will surely be uncovered by his eagle-eyed personnel. He called on the general public and well-meaning Nigerians to support the Nigerian Correctional Service in its efforts towards reforming and rehabilitating offenders so as to foster public safety.
