EDUCATION THE BEDROCK OF ANY SOCIETY, KABBA/BUNU PDP YOUTH LEADER COMMENDS GOVERNOR BELLO FOR THE PROPOSED UNIVERSITY IN OKUNLAND
I want to express my delight to His Excellency Governor Yahaha Bello and His Royal Majesty, Oba Solomon Oladele Owoniyi,Otitoleke Oweyomade 1 Obaro of Kabba, Chairman Okun Area Traditional Council for identifying our long time dream of having a University in our mother land Okunland, Where Undergraduate will be competing at the global stage in addition to global challenges that they might be confronted with.
I’m assured that this University will train graduates with sufficient and adequate academic, practical background for the creation, transfer and application of their acquired knowledge for the advancement of not only Okunland, Kogi state but Nigeria and the world at large.
It is worthy of note His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello knows the importance of a university education in community such as Okunland.
It must be pointed out that there are various benefits of gaining higher education. Which is to facilitate the advancement of knowledge and the development of high cognitive skills in the community. As this will automatically result to high productivity of members in the society, the ability to articulate thoughts clearly is critical because it improves labor relations, which leads to improved market outcomes.
It is vital to note that the governor acknowledges the potentials in Okun land, as the land is blessed with lots of professors, most educated as Okun people are known to be the most enlightened members of a society.
Another benefit is the reduction in crime rates and reliance on governmental financial aid. Besides, graduates more often understand the value of community service and civic duties.
For instance, individuals acquire the dexterity required to join specific economic fields. This allows them to earn decent incomes, which facilitates the satisfaction of basic needs and the acquisition of wealth.
Universities expose learners to the philosophy of life through the tutelage of professors who do not merely reiterate facts but have internalized core concepts, which they use to elucidate the evolution of mankind’s ambition and thirst for knowledge.
Your Excellency sir, your leadership at this point is highly commendable without prejudice, this is a good initiative and we employ you to put all the necessary documentation for a take off even before expiration of your tenure. Okunland celebrates you.
Your Excellency sir, recall that previously the two universities (Kogi state university and that of Federal) were proposed to sighted in Kabba but later relocated for reasons best known to the then Administration, however, the youth of the community were killed due to our quest and eagerness to have this edifice sighted on our land as we resisted this move with everything at our disposal.
Your Excellency sir, as a matter of urgency sir, in order for a swift take off, any of the collages can be used for a start, I.e Collage of Education Technical,Kabba or ABU Kabba. Your Excellency, there’s massive land in between Obelle in Kabba Bunu LGA and Ogalle Ijumu LGA along Kabba Okene Express road where the main campus of College of Education Technical is sighted, the community is willing to give you the entire land for this great initiative.
I hereby call on all Okun prominent sons both in diaspora to rally round his Excellency to achieve this quickly before the expiration of his tenure.
