Engr. Matthew Tonlagha Bags 2026 Award for Outstanding Humanitarian Service, August 19 in Abuja
ABUJA — The Vice Chairman of Tantita Security Service Limited, Engr. Matthew Tonlagha, has been selected to receive the ‘Humanitarian to All in the Society Award 2026’ at the 16th Public Lecture and Award Ceremony organized by Democracy Newsline Newspaper.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday, 19th August, 2026 at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja. It will mark the 27th Anniversary of Uninterrupted Democracy in Nigeria.
According to the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Democracy Newsline Newspaper, Chief Olugbemi Femi, the award recognizes Engr. Tonlagha’s outstanding commitment to philanthropy, peace building, youth empowerment, and community development across the Niger Delta and Nigeria.

“Engr. Matthew Tonlagha has distinguished himself as a leader who combines corporate responsibility with deep compassion for humanity,” Chief Femi said. “His humanitarian interventions in education, health, and welfare have brought relief to thousands and inspired hope in many communities.”
As Vice Chairman of Tantita Security Service Limited, Warri, Delta State, Engr. Tonlagha has been instrumental in promoting security, stability, and economic growth in the region. Beyond his role in the organization, he is widely known for sponsoring scholarships, supporting indigent students, funding medical outreaches, and providing relief to vulnerable families.
The theme of this year’s lecture is “Economic Reform, Democracy and Sustainable Development: The Nigerian Example.” The ceremony will also feature the Induction of distinguished Nigerians into the Good Governance Hall of Fame.
Other dignitaries expected include federal and state government officials, traditional rulers, security experts, captains of industry, and civil society leaders.
The organizers said the awards are aimed at celebrating Nigerians whose leadership and humanitarian service have advanced democracy, peace, and sustainable development.
Engr. Tonlagha is expected to deliver a goodwill message at the ceremony and will receive a plaque and citation in recognition of his service.
