ENIKANOLAIYE ENCOURAGES OKUN PEOPLE TO STAND IN UNITY FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL

The Honourable Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, has called on the Okun people to remain united and inclusive in order to attract more development to Okunland.

The Minister made the call on over the weekend while receiving a delegation of the Okun Development Initiative (ODI) on a courtesy visit to him in Abuja. The delegation was led by the National Coordinator of ODI, Deacon Otitoju Olusuyi. The purpose of the visit was to congratulate the Minister on his appointment and to pledge the support of the Okun people for his tenure.

Speaking during the meeting, Ambassador Enikanolaiye commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians through the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He explained that the President’s foreign policy is anchored on the 4D Agenda: Demography, Development, Democracy, and Diaspora, which prioritizes citizen diplomacy and the welfare of Nigerians at home and abroad.

The Minister expressed appreciation that Mr. President has demonstrated special interest in the Okun nation, noting that many Okun sons and daughters currently occupy strategic positions in government. He further admonished the Okun people to give their full support to the Tinubu administration, stressing that such solidarity will attract more Federal Government presence and development projects to Okunland.

He pledged his commitment to the progress, development, and unity of Okunland. The Minister also urged the delegation to carry everyone along in their activities, emphasizing that unity and inclusiveness remain the beauty and strength of democracy.

Speaking earlier, Deacon Olusuyi congratulated the Minister on his well-deserved appointment. He assured him of the unwavering support of the Okun people both at home and in the Diaspora.

As part of the visit, the delegation presented a giant congratulatory card to the Minister as a symbol of appreciation and solidarity from the Okun people.

In closing, the Minister reiterated his commitment to working with stakeholders to advance the interests of Okunland and to ensure that the community benefits maximally from the policies and programmes of the Federal Government.
