Excel David Onuche Visits Ganaja, Engages Igala, Bassa Communities on Developmental Challenges
Promises to Present Community Concerns to Governor Ododo, Announces Future Empowerment Plans
GANJAJA, Kogi State — Excel David Onuche has visited Igala and Bassa communities residing in Ganaja, Ajaokuta Local Government Area of Kogi State, to engage residents on their developmental challenges and explore ways of communicating their concerns to the relevant authorities.
The visit provided an opportunity for Onuche to interact directly with community members, listen to their concerns and discuss critical infrastructure and social development needs affecting their daily lives.
During the interactive session, Onuche assured the residents that their concerns would be presented to the appropriate authorities, particularly the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for consideration and possible intervention.
Among the major issues raised by the residents were the need for attention to the traditional palace, improvement of road networks and the provision of a transformer to address persistent electricity challenges in the community.
Onuche emphasised that the visit was primarily aimed at understanding the people’s needs and establishing a stronger channel of communication between the communities and the government.
He clarified that the gathering was not an empowerment programme but assured the residents that he would return at a later date to organise an empowerment initiative for the benefit of the community.
The engagement also featured discussions on political participation and support for political leaders. Onuche urged the residents to support Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, whom he described as the Supreme Leader, in his senatorial ambition, alongside President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ododo.
The visit attracted a considerable number of residents despite the short notice given before the programme. The turnout highlighted the community’s willingness to participate in discussions concerning their welfare, infrastructure and overall development.
Onuche was accompanied by the Chairman of the Special Advisers Forum, Hon. Bode Adeyemi, and other members of the Native Boy Movement.
As part of the visit, cash donations were made to members of the community, bringing the engagement to a close on a note of goodwill and a renewed commitment to continued interaction.
The visit underscored the importance of grassroots engagement in identifying local needs and communicating them to relevant authorities, while raising expectations among residents for further attention to the developmental challenges confronting their communities.
