FARMER GOVERNOR UMARU BAGO RECEIVES NIGER STATE’S BID FOR THE 24TH EDITION OF NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL
The Niger State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has presented Governor Umaru Bago with the document bid for the 24th edition of the National Sports Festival.
The presentation was made by the Commissioner for Sports, Yahaya Ibrahim Gulbin Boka, alongside his Permanent Secretary, Nuhu Garba Ngaski during the executive council meeting held at the Council Chamber, Government House Minna.
The Ministry also informed the Governor that Niger State’s bidding was adjudged to be the best among other bidding states.
Governor Bago was equally presented with samples of track suits for Niger State contingents for his approval with the games slated to begin on the 28th of December, 2028.
Farmer Governor Umaru Bago was also presented with locally made branded snack (kuli kuli) by the Commissioner for Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises Elizabeth Shaba.
Elizabeth Shaba said, the packaged product was produced by women being supported by the State Government and added that there is a ready market for the sales and export of the products.
Similarly, the Commissioner for Primary Health, Dr. Ibrahim Dangana decorated the Governor as a Vaccine Ambassador by the Rotary Club International and the Forum of Spouses of Nigerian Governors.
Commissioner for Homeland Security, Abdullahi Garba Muhammad also presented the Governor with the OAN Nigerian leadership award as Icon of Societal Transformation conferred on him by the Centre for Patriotism and Value Re-orientation, Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Governor was also recognized with an Award of Excellence by the Progressives Governors’ Forum presented to him by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Binta Mamman, while the Commissioner for Tertiary Health, Dr. Bello Tukur also presented the Governor with the award of “Nursing Advocate Extra Ordinary” presented to the Governor during the Annual Delegates Conference of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, Niger State.
Commissioner for Agriculture, Musa Bawa also presented a plague to Governor Umaru Bago from Agro-Best reality TV show and informed the Governor about the show to be hosted in Niger State where agric-entrepreneurs from the 36 States of the federation and the FCT are expected to participate for 60 days.
