FARMER GOVERNOR UMARU BAGO SIGNS 2025 BUDGET OF N1.558trillion INTO LAW.

Niger State Governor, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has signed into law the 2025 appropriation bill of over N1.558trillion.

The Farmer Governor Umaru Bago performed the statutory duty a few hours after the State Assembly had passed the budget within a week

In his remarks, Farmer Governor Umaru Bago commended the efforts of the Legislators for the expeditious scrutiny and passage of the bill, describing it as unprecedented, adding that the leadership of the 10th State Assembly has indeed set a pace for the entire nation.

The Farmer Governor restated his administration’s commitment to strengthening the existing synergy with the legislative arm of government.

He enjoined the legislators to invoke the instrument of oversight, to ensure the Executive arm comply with the Budget

Earlier, the Speaker Niger State House of Assembly, Abdulmalik Sarkin-Daji explained that the State Assembly commenced budget screening about 3 months ago.

He said the quick passage was achieved due to the outstanding performance of the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mustapha Ndajiwo.

The Speaker, who scored Ndajiwo high, said the Commissioner ensured all due process were diligently carried out, making their job easier, adding that the 10th Assembly only ensured that the usual rituals are done and also ensured the judicious allocation of resources in the budget.

He applauded the farmer Governor for his sagacity and support to the legislature assuring him that the 10th State Assembly will continue to deepen the existing cordial relationship with the Executive arm of government for the realisation of the New Niger.

Farmer Governor Umaru Bago had on the 12th of December 2024, presented the 2025 estimate tagged “The Budget of Hope for Food Security and Sustainability” to the State Assembly for the passage where the Speaker, Abdulmalik Sarkin-Daji promised that the Legislators will work assiduously to ensure its quick passage.
