FUL VC hails Late Engr Makoju’s Family For Donating 250 seater capacity Lecture Theatre

The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Lokoja, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, has praised the family of late Engr Joseph Makoju for a donation of 250 seater capacity Lecture Theatre to the institution.

The Vice Chancellor gave the commendation while speaking at the commissioning and dedication of Joseph and Enesi Oyeyani Makoju Memorial Lecture Theatre, donated to the Federal University, Lokoja, by the family, held at the institution’s permanent site, Felele, in Lokoja, on Sunday.

Professor Akinwumi described the 250 seater capacity Lecture Theatre as architectural master piece.

The Vice Chancellor who expressed gratitude to Makoju’s Family, affirmed that the gift will go a long way in providing the needed quality education in the university.

“To the Makoju’s Family, your generosity is highly appreciated and will be rewarded abundantly

“We, members of the University Community, remains eternally grateful to Makoju’s Family for initiating the project in April, 2024 and ensuring its completion with the inauguration and dedication of the lecture building today.

“This benevolent demonstration from the family showcases their believe in advancing the course of education sector

“We will ensure judicious use of the lecture building for the purpose intended in our academic journey. We are sincerely happy that the vision of the project has come to reality”

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi state in his goodwill massage, maintained that Late Engr Joseph Makoju during his lifetime has done well in touching the lives of the people.

The Governor who was represented by the State Security Adviser, Jerry Omodara, described the Lecture Theatre as a lasting legacy gesture from the family of late Engr Joseph Makoju and prayed God to continue to grant them their heart desires.

The Governor extended his condolences to the family for the loss of their father and son.

He called on meaningful citizens to emulate the philanthropic gesture of Makoju’s Family.

In her remarks, Dr. Mrs Gladys Makoju, said that the inauguration and dedication of the lecture building is part of the activities marking the birthday of their late son, Enesi.

She said that the donation of the lecture theatre is part of their contributions to humanity and educational development.

She said that the event has also provided the family the opportunity to remember their late Daddy, Joseph and Son, Enesi.
