The Executive Chairman of Jos East Local Government Area, Hon. Markus Inyam Husseini, has been described as having provided meaningful and impactful leadership towards sustaining peace in Jos East Local Government Area.
This commendation was made by the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, during the Annual Cultural Festival of Afizere People, Ikos Afizere.
The Governor said Jos East has been witnessing relative peace compared to other local governments in Plateau State.
“We have had clashes here and there, particularly cases of kidnapping, but I want to praise the leadership and dexterity of the Chairman of Jos East Local Government Area, who has always been proactive whenever there is a security challenge in the local government. I have seen him rise to the occasion and nip it in the bud. We are praying to witness and enjoy peace in 2026 more than last year.”
The Governor is pleased with the Chairman’s performance, citing the security networks in Jos East despite sharing a boundary with Bauchi State.
Welcoming the dignitaries, the Chairman, who was the chief host, said,
“The Governor’s presence is an honour to the entire Izere people, and we want to sincerely appreciate him. We will never forget this historic and memorable occasion, and we will appreciate the Governor by voting for him in 2027.”
