The Kumbotso Local Government Youth Awareness (KLGYA) has petitioned several authorities in Kano, including the Chief Judge of Kano State, the Director of DSS, the EFCC, and the AIG Zone, over an alleged illegal substitution of candidates in the Kumbotso LG chairmanship race.

The group claims that despite a court ruling that favored Ali Musa Dan Maliki of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), KANSIEC went ahead with the substitution of his name for Abdullahi Ghali as the party’s candidate.

The petition further asserts that KANSIEC ignored the court order, and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf swore in Abdullahi Ghali on October 28, 2024, without respecting the judgment. The group is urging authorities to revisit the case to ensure justice and uphold democratic principles.
