GWAGWALADA AREA COUNCIL CHAIRMAN CALLS FOR CONCERTED EFFORTS TO COMBAT INSECURITY IN NIGERIA.

The Chairman of the Gwagwalada Area Council of the federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja , Honourable Abubakar Jibril Giri has Called for Concerted efforts by Nigerians to Surmount the growing menace of insecurity in the Country.
Hon. Abubakar Giri disclosed this at a dialogue, organized by the University of Abuja Post Graduate Students , themed ,”managing; Insecurity for Development In A Multi-Ethnic Society”, held Wednesday,May 14,2025, Conference Center, permanent Site University of Abuja, and attendees were drawn from the Academia,the traditional Institution, Politicians and those in the Military and Paramilitary.
The Council Boss said the Security of lives and Properties should be the Concerns of all Nigerians irrespective of ethnic, religious and regional backgrounds, saying that all hands must be on deck to Surmount the Nation’s security Challenges.
Presenting what appeared to be the score Card of his Stewardship in the Gwagwalada Area Council, Specifically, on Security,Hon. Abubakar Giri stated that his administration since assumption in 2022, has prioritised the Security of lives and Properties through various initiatives.
He said that towards effective policing and surveillance at nights, Solar street lights were installed to improve visibility in Gwagwalada town and other Communities, more Community policing Personnel were recruited and most importantly, youths in the Area Council were also engaged in meaningful Venture to reduce Youth restiveness which has been identified as the roots cause of insecurity in Nigeria.
He applauded Security Agencies for their immense Contribution to the Crime free atmosphere that has pervaded the Area Council, which is now reputed as the most Peaceful Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory.
