Kabba/bunu local government
The National Assembly has today passed the Federal University of Kabba Establishment Act, a legislative breakthrough that marks a new dawn for the people of Kogi West, particularly Okun. The bill, which is now set to be transmitted to the President for assent, paves the way for the establishment of a full-fledged Federal University in the region.
For years, the people of Okun land and the entire Kogi West Senatorial District have been united in their call for greater access to federal educational institutions.
This aspiration stems not only from the desire to enhance educational opportunities for the youth, but also to drive economic growth, create employment, and bring federal presence closer to the region.
Today, that long-cherished dream is closer to reality, thanks to the committed efforts of Senator Sunday Steve Karimi. Without fanfare or loud declarations, Senator Karimi has quietly and effectively navigated the complex legislative process to ensure this bill sees the light of day.
This achievement is a testament to the fact that true leadership is not about making noise, but about delivering results. Senator Karimi has consistently focused on substance over spectacle, working diligently behind the scenes to bring lasting development to his constituents.
The Federal University of Kabba, once established, will serve as a catalyst for human capital development and a beacon of learning in the North Central region. It is a legacy project—one that future generations will look back on with pride.
As we await Presidential assent, we call on all sons and daughters of Kogi West to stand in unity and continue supporting the development agenda that will uplift our region.
Together, we are building the future.
