Hon. Bashir Promises to Prioritise Education, Health in Gui Ward

Ahiaba Douglas

The Councillorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for Gui Ward in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Mustapha Micheal Bashir, has pledged to give priority attention to the education and health sectors in the ward.

Hon. Bashir made this commitment while addressing journalists at a Town Hall Meeting organized by members of the Obedient Movement in Kabusa Ward on Sunday, September 31, 2025, at the Okay Event Center, Lugbe, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

He explained that his representation at the AMAC Legislative Council, God willing, would be deliberate, intentional, and conscious of the urgent need to reposition both the education and health sectors of Gui Ward.

The ADC candidate lamented the deplorable state of infrastructure in many public primary schools in the ward, stressing the urgency of intervention in the education sector.

> “There are many public primary schools in Gui Ward where you can hardly find up to ten desks in a classroom. Almost all the pupils sit on bare floors—a very bad development,” he said.

Hon. Bashir also promised to renovate, equip, and upgrade public health facilities in the ward, describing the existing ones as dilapidated and grossly understaffed. He recalled tragic instances where women in labour lost their lives while seeking medical attention elsewhere due to the absence of functioning facilities.

> “My representation will ensure that these urgent challenges in our education and health sectors are tackled head-on,” he assured.
