Hon. Isah Emeje Mourns Former Kogi Governor Ibrahim Idris
Hon. Isah Umaru Emeje has expressed deep sadness over the death of former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, popularly known as “Ibro,” describing his passing as a great loss to the state.
Emeje, in a condolence message, said the death of the former governor marked the departure of a prominent statesman who played an important role in the political and developmental history of Kogi State.
He noted that Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, who served as governor of Kogi State from 2003 to 2012, left his footprints in the political evolution and physical development of the state through various projects and interventions.
According to him, the administration of the late governor was associated with interventions in areas including infrastructure, education, healthcare, water supply and other critical sectors.

Emeje described the deceased as a father figure and political elder whose name would remain an important part of the history of Kogi State.
“Today, Kogi State has lost a father figure, a political elder and a former chief executive whose name will forever remain part of the history of our state,” he said.
He urged the people of the state to remember the late former governor for his years of service, the relationships he built and the contributions he made to the growth and development of Kogi State.
Emeje, on behalf of his family, political associates, supporters and the people of Ofu Local Government Area, extended his condolences to the Idris family, friends, political associates and the entire people of Kogi State.
He prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late former governor, accept his good deeds and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus.
He also prayed for strength, courage and fortitude for the family of the deceased to bear the loss.
“Kogi State mourns. Ofu mourns. The political family mourns,” Emeje said, adding that the legacy and memory of the former governor would continue to be remembered.
He prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris.
