Victor Omale Mourns Former Kogi Governor Ibrahim Idris
Hon. Victor Ojogbane Uchola Omale has expressed deep grief over the death of former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, popularly known as “Ibro,” describing his passing as a painful loss to Kogi State and Nigeria.
Omale, in a condolence message, said the death of the former governor marked the departure of a prominent Kogi patriot who occupied an important place in the political and developmental history of the state.
According to him, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, who served as Governor of Kogi State from 2003 to 2012, played a significant role in the political journey of the state, while his administration was associated with various projects and interventions in infrastructure, education, healthcare, water supply and other sectors.
He said the late former governor’s years of public service remain an important part of Kogi State’s history, adding that his contributions to governance and development would continue to be remembered.

“Today, politics is momentarily put aside. Today, Kogi mourns. Today, we remember a son of the soil who dedicated a significant part of his life to public service,” Omale said.
The former political office holder extended his heartfelt condolences to the Idris family, friends, associates and political followers of the deceased.
He also commiserated with the entire people of Kogi State, particularly the people of Idah Federal Constituency, on the loss of the former governor.
Omale urged the bereaved family and other mourners to take solace in the memories of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris’ years of service and the contributions he made to the development of Kogi State.
He prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late former governor, accept his good deeds and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
He also prayed for strength, courage and fortitude for the family and the people of Kogi State to bear the irreparable loss.
Omale said although Alhaji Ibrahim Idris had departed this world, the memories of his years of service would remain embedded in the history of Kogi State.
He concluded by praying for the peaceful repose of the soul of the late former governor.
