Hon. John Suberu Declares Bid for Federal House of Representatives Seat, Vows to Serve Adavi/Okehi

A politician and philanthropist, Hon. Dr John Yusuf Suberu, has formally declared his intention to contest for the Federal House of Representatives seat representing Adavi/Okehi Federal Constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Hon. Suberu at his official declaration and empowerment programme on Wednesday at Ege in Adavi, promised to address pressing issues affecting the area.
He expressed his deep love for his people and constituency, citing the struggles of the youth, women, and vulnerable members of society as his motivation for seeking office.
“I humbly ask you to bear with me today, because what I am about to share with you is not just a speech.
“It is a confession. It is a cry from the heart of a son who deeply loves his people and can no longer remain silent while his land suffers,” he said.
He acknowledged the challenges facing Adavi/Okehi, including poor roads, insecurity, and inadequate education, and pledged to prioritize these issues if elected.
Suberu also promised to pursue employment opportunities, training programmes, and entrepreneurship support for young people, as well as empowerment programmes for women.
He commended Gov. Ahmed Ododo and President Bola Tinubu for their efforts in tackling insecurity in the state and the nation at large.
The politician also announced some pre-election initiatives, including awarding 40 scholarships to students, distributing food items to 1,500 people, providing financial support to 100 individuals, and distributing phones to some beneficiaries.
In his opening speech, Hon. Yusuf Ohiare, Special Adviser on Electronic Media to the Governor, welcomed guests to the event, describing it as a “moment of renewed hope” for Adavi/Okehi.
“This event highlights something very dear to his heart—empowerment.
“Today’s empowerment program is a practical demonstration of his belief that leadership is about uplifting people, creating opportunities, and putting smiles on faces,” Ohiare said.
The declaration event was attended by prominent APC leaders, including the ward party’s chairman, Engineer Ezzu Aliyu Momoh, and the Auditor-General for Local Government, Dr. Yakubu Adabenege Siyaka.
In their separate comments, the youth and women leaders of the party in the areas, commended the aspirant for his empowerment programmes and expressed their full support for his aspiration.
Speaking on behalf of Ege-Iruvochinomi Ward, Hon. Fatimat Abdulmalik, the immediate past Council Leader of Adavi Local Government, expressed gratitude to Suberu for his contributions to the community.
Abdulmalik cited his empowerment programs, scholarship initiatives, and support for orphans to and the less privileged.
“We proudly and wholeheartedly pledge our unreserved support for your aspiration to represent us in the Federal House of Representatives.
“As you formally declare your intention to serve at the national level, we want you to know that we recognize your dedication, we believe in your capacity, and we trust in your genuine love for the people,” Abdulmalik said.
The highlights of the event was Suberu’s official declaration for House of Representative for Adavi/Okehi Federal Constituency, and distribution of pre-election initiatives, including awarding scholarships to pupils and students, distributing food items, cash and phones to some beneficiaries.
Hon. Suberu’s bid is seen as a bid to bring about positive change and development to the Adavi/Okehi Federal Constituency, with many hoping that his election will mark a new era of effective representation and service to the people.
