Hon. Leke Abejide Visits Yagba West Over Security Issues, Pledges Lasting Solution
Hon. Leke Abejide paid a visit to the Chairman of Yagba West Local Government Area, Hon. Tosin Olokun, at his office in Odo Ere.
During the visit, the two leaders held a closed-door meeting to discuss security issues affecting the area.
Hon. Abejide emphasized that the lives and properties of the people of Yagba are of great importance and that security issues would not be taken lightly.
He also visited the families of vigilantes who lost their lives in Egbe and the Egbe Police Station to sympathize with them over the loss of three police officers.
He urged the police officers to be security-conscious and tactically prepared at all times, noting that the bandits have stool pigeons among the people.
“They strike when they see that the police are unprepared,” he said. Hon. Abejide cautioned the police to be cautious and expressed his desire to prevent further loss of lives.
According to him, strategies have been mapped out to combat the bandits who flee from other states to Yagba area.
He pleaded with the people of Yagba West not to harbor these criminals. “At this point, there is no mercy for any criminal. Since they have vowed to continue launching attacks on our people, we will show them the way out of our land,” he warned.
Hon. Abejide warned that collaborators with bandits would not be tolerated, emphasizing that the cooperation of the people is crucial to tackling the security challenges effectively.
“Yagba land will no longer be habitable for bandits,” he declared. “We will do all it takes to ensure the safety of lives and properties. We are launching ‘Operation No Mercy’ for criminals, bandits, and kidnappers.”
