HON. SANNI JIDE: TECH SKILLS INITIATIVE IN KABBA-BUNU/IJUMU WILL REDUCE CRIME, BOOST EMPLOYMENT AND INCREASE YOUTH PRODUCTIVITY

The House of Representatives NDC candidate for Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Hon. Sanni Jide, has reiterated his commitment to youth empowerment through digital and technology-driven initiatives, stating that the establishment of technology skill acquisition centers across the constituency will significantly reduce crime, create employment opportunities, and improve youth productivity.

Speaking on his vision for the constituency, Hon. Sanni Jide emphasized that the future belongs to technology and innovation, noting that many young people in Kabba, Bunu, and Ijumu possess enormous talents but lack access to modern digital training and opportunities that can transform their lives.

According to him, the proposed Tech Skills Initiative will focus on equipping youths with practical digital skills such as software development, graphic design, digital marketing, web development, cybersecurity, data analysis, content creation, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technology-related professions that are currently in high demand across the world.

He explained that unemployment remains one of the major factors contributing to rising insecurity, cybercrime, drug abuse, and other social vices among young people, stressing that meaningful engagement through technology education would redirect the energy of youths towards productive ventures.

“An idle mind is vulnerable to negative influences. When our youths are equipped with relevant digital skills, they become job creators rather than job seekers. They can work remotely for global organizations, establish their own businesses, and contribute positively to the economic growth of our communities,” Hon. Sanni Jide stated.

Hon Sanni Jide further disclosed that his vision includes the establishment of well-equipped ICT and innovation hubs with internet access, modern computers, and training facilities where youths can learn, innovate, and compete favorably with their counterparts across Nigeria and beyond.

He noted that technology has become a major driver of economic development globally, adding that communities that invest in digital education today will reap enormous benefits tomorrow through increased employment, entrepreneurship, and economic prosperity.

Hon. Sanni Jide also appealed to corporate organizations, development partners, and well-meaning sons and daughters of Okunland to support his initiatives aimed at empowering young people with modern skills capable of transforming the region.

He maintained that a constituency blessed with educated, skilled, and productive youths would naturally experience lower crime rates, greater economic activities, and sustainable development.
“As representatives of the next generation, we must invest in our youths today. Technology is no longer a luxury; it is a necessity. Through our Tech Skills Initiative, we shall open new doors of opportunities, reduce unemployment, tackle poverty, and position Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu as a hub for digital innovation and excellence,” he concluded.

The initiative has continued to receive commendation from youth groups and stakeholders across the constituency, who describe it as a forward-looking approach capable of addressing unemployment and empowering thousands of young people with globally relevant skills.
Hon. Sanni Jide’s vision remains clear: empower the youths, embrace technology, create opportunities, and build a safer, more prosperous Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency.
