How Illegal Traders Resurfaced In Jos.
Jos, the Plateau state Capital is a Historic and one of the Major Towns in Nigeria.
The Appellation of Plateau state is Home of Peace and Tourism.
The major threat and sustainability of this is the rascality and illegal occupation of Major Streets at the City Centre by the Illegal Traders as well as Motor Parks.
Recently, the State Government constituted a task force under the Chairmanship of Attorney General and Commissioner For Justice, to clear does illegal occupants within and around the premises of the Old Site of Jos University Teaching Hospital, the move is create a space for the smooth take off of the newly established Orthopedic Hospital for the North Central which to be sited at JUTH old site.
The Committee swung into action and such people were evacuated
But the inability of the committee to execute her job to the later saw the immediate returned of such traders to the areas that there were sent away.
A visit by our reporter shows how the street of Terminus is littered with the illegal traders by the road sides.
Another area of concerned is the Commercial Tricycles that were hitherto restricted from Terminus roundabout and Commercial Buses that are applying Jos to Bukuru are now having the field day and are causing traffic gridlocks as well as accidents that have led to the loss of lives and property of the Citizens.
Investigation also shows a space has been allocated to the Commercial Bus Drivers operating from Terminus to Lamingo and JUTH Permanent Site and Bukuru but those from Bukuru are so reluctant and recalcitrant to obey the order and occupy the space.
The team of security personels that just operated for two days, have disappeared into thin air.
The Government need to ensure the order is obeyed to the later.
If truly the purpose of the committee is to create an enabling environment to take off, then they need to go back to the drawing board and constitute mobile courts to prosecute the defaulters.
