HRM OBA SOLOMON OWONIYI THANKS WELL-WISHERS FOR BIRTHDAY GREETINGS

The Obaro of Kabba and Chairman Okun Area Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr Solomon Owoniyi, has expressed his gratitude to all who sent birthday greetings on the occasion of his birthday on January 1, 2026.
In a statement, Oba Owoniyi said, “On the occasion of our birthday yesterday, we received tonnes of congratulatory messages from all over Kogi State and across Nigeria. That was in spite of our decision not to put up a loud celebration in deference to the current mood of our state.”

He acknowledged messages from traditional rulers, dignitaries, politicians, religious leaders, market unions, clubs, and civil society organisations, saying it’s impossible to reply individually.
“We have therefore decided to use this as a medium to communicate our sincere appreciation to all the dignitaries, individuals, groups and organisations who took time to send us birthday felicitations on that auspicious occasion. We are grateful to you all for remembering us on our day of joy.”
Oba Solomon Owoniyi also appealed for cooperation with the government and security agencies to tackle insecurity in Kogi State, saying, “Bandits may be heavily armed but they are not ghosts. We therefore appeal to all who have useful information about their activities to please pass it over to the relevant government and security agencies.”
The statement concluded, “May peace reign in our state and in our country. We thank you all.”
