IKOYI BANDIT ATTACK: HON. SANNI JIDE COMMENDS JOINT SECURITY OPERATIVES, DEMANDS IMMEDIATE FOREST SEARCH TO APPREHEND PERPETRATORS
Iyamoye-born philanthropist and House of Representatives candidate for Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency under the umbrella of NDC, Hon. Sanni Jide, has commended the gallantry and swift response of the joint security forces comprising the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Army, local vigilantes, and other security stakeholders for their efforts in responding to the recent bandit attack in IKOYI and surrounding communities.
Hon. Sanni Jide described the unfortunate attack as a painful incident that has once again highlighted the urgent need for stronger security architecture and proactive measures to protect lives and property across Ijumu Land and the entire Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency.
While expressing sympathy to community affected by the attack, he praised the courage, sacrifice, and professionalism displayed by security personnel and local hunters who risked their lives in confronting the criminals and preventing further devastation.

According to him, the bravery demonstrated by the security operatives deserves recognition and support from all stakeholders, noting that the protection of communities remains a collective responsibility.
Hon. Sanni Jide, however, called on security agencies not to relent in their efforts. He urged the authorities to immediately launch a comprehensive search-and-comb operation across the forests and suspected hideouts within and around the affected areas to ensure that all perpetrators and their collaborators are tracked down, arrested, and prosecuted.
He stressed that allowing criminal elements to escape justice would only embolden others, adding that the people of Bunu Land deserve to live without fear of attacks, kidnappings, and other criminal activities.
“The recent attack on Ikoyi is deeply disturbing and unacceptable. I commend our brave security personnel, local vigilantes, and hunters for their swift intervention. However, the job is not yet completed. I call for an immediate and sustained forest search operation to flush out every criminal responsible for this attack and bring them to justice,” he stated.
Hon. Sanni Jide further appealed to residents to continue cooperating with security agencies by providing credible information that could assist ongoing investigations and security operations. He emphasized that intelligence gathering remains one of the most effective tools in combating insecurity.
He also called on the Federal and Kogi State Governments to strengthen security presence in vulnerable communities, improve logistics support for security agencies, and provide adequate resources needed to effectively combat criminal activities in rural areas.
The philanthropist concluded by praying for the safety of all security personnel on duty, the speedy recovery of any injured victims, and lasting peace across Ikoyi, ijumu Land, and the entire Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency.
“Together, we must stand against insecurity and ensure that those responsible for terrorizing our communities face the full weight of the law. Peace, justice, and security must prevail,” Hon. Sanni Jide added.
