INEC CHAIRMAN: ENDORSEMENT OF PROF. JOASH AMUPITAN’S ENVIABLE RECORDS OF EXCELLENCE, INTEGRITY, AND NATIONALISM
With profound gratitude to God Almighty, I formally and respectfully congratulate Prof. Joash Amupitan, (SAN), on his well-deserved appointment as the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) by President Bola Tinubu, GCFR; following his nomination by the National Council of State, (NCS), and successful screening by the Nigerian Senate.
Over the years, having followed his academic, professional, and public service careers, one can confidently and proudly declare that his appointment to the zenith of Nigeria’s electoral body is most appropriate. Given the glaring challenges, and negative public perceptions, the INEC, at this critical time needs his broad-based experiences, exposures, and more importantly, his serially-proven integrity, selflessness, and probity for re-engineering, re-direction, and re-positioning.
Indeed, that he has emerged as the first person from Okunland; Kogi State, North Central; and the Middle Belt to be appointed to head the institution since creation did not come to me as a surprise. From reports, he has always had pace-setting achievements in all his academic, professional, and public service pursuits.
Given my knowledge of his passion for excellence, hard work, uprightness, fairness, and patriotism, I am confident that Nigerians will not only witness a breath of fresh air, but will have cause to witness positive changes in the operations of the INEC, and ultimately, believe in the electoral system.
I pray that God Almighty will endow him with wisdom, knowledge, and understanding for outstanding accomplishments in the INEC. I also pray that God Almighty will grant him perfect health and renewed strength in his desire to contribute positively towards the deepening of Nigeria’s democracy, Amen.
