Miyetti Allah Calls for a Stop In Killing of Fulani’s, And Compensation For Members In Kwara

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) Kwara state chapter has called on the state government and security agencies to fully investigate the alleged killing of Fulani in Edu local government area of the state.
The state chairman of Miyetti Allah,Alhaji Shehu Garba made the call in a statement issued and made available to newsmen in Ilorin.
He also called on the state government to consider compensation for Fulani on the killing of their loved ones and destruction of their means of livelihood as well as properties as it was done to other ethnic groups in the state.
The MACBAN chairman expressed worry over the way the state government handled their matter when it affects lives and properties.
He explained that their findings indicates that at different times in Oke Ode, Ifelodun local government,Omu-Aran Irepodun local government and Gbugbu in Edu local government areas about 20 Fulani’s have been killed, with 42 cows,sheeps and goats missing, while 1,200 bags of grains and shelters were also destroyed.
Alhaji Garba noted that the local vigilantee conducting stop and search on the road to Omu-Aran have seized over five Fulani’s on transit who they claimed have been handed over to the security agencies but up till now they are still missing without traces
He said the recent attacks on Fulani’s wearing state government approved vigilantee uniform in some parts of the state is worrisome.
The MACBAN chairman called on the state government to urgently look into the matter and treat the Fulani’s equally by compensating all their losses as it was done to others in the interest of justice and fairness.
He also called on security agencies to investigate the whereabouts of Fulani’s allegedly handed over to them by the local vigilantee in Omu-Aran to unravel the mystery behind their disappearance.END
