PRESS RELEASE

JAFSMW Challenges Alfred Bello to Substantiate Allegations Against Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke

The Hon. James Abiodun Faleke Solidarity Movement Worldwide (JAFSMW) has challenged Hon. Alfred Bello to publicly substantiate the allegations he made against Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke during a purported Kogi West stakeholders’ press conference held on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

Hon. Bello, a former member of the Kogi State House of Assembly representing Kabba/Bunu Constituency and currently Commissioner in charge of Training at the Kogi State House of Assembly Service Commission, reportedly alleged that Rt. Hon. Faleke was “causing problems everywhere” and appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to “call him to order.”

JAFSMW considers the remarks unfortunate, provocative and completely devoid of factual foundation.

In a democracy, serious allegations must be supported by verifiable facts. It is therefore incumbent upon Hon. Bello to explain to Nigerians what specific actions of Rt. Hon. Faleke constitute the “problems” he referenced. Vague accusations made without evidence can only fuel unnecessary political tension and distract attention from issues of governance and development.

The Movement notes that the public record tells a different story.

Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke has consistently demonstrated goodwill towards the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo. On several occasions, he has urged his supporters to stand firmly behind the Governor and has openly pledged his personal support for the Governor’s administration and future political aspirations.

These are verifiable public positions that contradict Hon. Bello’s narrative.

JAFSMW is therefore compelled to ask whether Hon. Bello’s comments are intended to create an artificial conflict where none exists. Those familiar with political developments in Kogi State are aware that Governor Ododo and Rt. Hon. Faleke have maintained a cordial relationship based on mutual respect, consultation and commitment to the stability of the APC.

Equally puzzling is Hon. Bello’s attempt to draw President Bola Ahmed Tinubu into what appears to be a needless political controversy. The enduring relationship between President Tinubu and Rt. Hon. Faleke is built on years of trust, loyalty, competence and shared political struggles. Such a relationship cannot be diminished by speculative claims or unsupported accusations.

The people of Kogi West deserve leadership that inspires confidence, promotes unity and focuses on development rather than rhetoric that breeds suspicion and division.

JAFSMW therefore urges political office holders to exercise greater responsibility in public communication and to avoid comments capable of undermining the unity and cohesion of the All Progressives Congress.

The Movement reaffirms its unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke in their collective commitment to strengthening the APC and advancing the development of Kogi State and Nigeria.
