Jubilation in Warri Federal Constituency as NDP Candidate, Mulade Sheriff, Receives Certificate of Return
— Promises Peace, Unity, Development Among Ijaw, Itsekiri, Urhobo

There was jubilation in Warri Federal Constituency, Delta State, as the candidate of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Comrade Mulade Blessing Sheriff, received his Certificate of Return, reaffirming his commitment to peace, unity and sustainable development among the Ijaw, Itsekiri and Urhobo ethnic groups in the constituency.

Mulade, a renowned Delta State-born United Nations Peace Ambassador and environmental rights activist, reassured the people of Warri Federal Constituency that, if elected to the House of Representatives in 2027, he would provide quality and inclusive representation while deepening peace, unity and development across the constituency.
The House of Representatives hopeful, under the platform of the NDP, also promised to attract the desired federal attention and development to the constituency, with particular emphasis on employment creation, youth empowerment and programmes aimed at improving the welfare of women and other vulnerable groups.
Chief Mulade, the Ibe-Sorimowei of the ancient, oil-rich Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, gave the assurances during an official flag-off and consultation meeting with citizens and supporters ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He said the election would be about capacity, competence and the ability to effectively represent the people and attract meaningful developmental projects to the constituency.
According to him, Warri Federal Constituency has been deprived of meaningful development, empowerment and adequate federal attention due largely to what he described as inadequate quality representation, despite the enormous economic contributions of the constituency to the nation’s wealth.
“If elected in 2027 into the House of Representatives, Warri City and its environs would be given the deserved special attention through constructive advocacy and engagement with all relevant stakeholders.
“As the voice for the voiceless, I assure you that the voice of the Warri people will be heard constructively,” he said.
He further pledged to work with the local, state and federal governments to revive critical economic infrastructure in the area.
“Please, kindly permit me to reassure the good and peace-loving people of Warri Federal Constituency, mainly the Ijaw, Itsekiri, Urhobo and residents, that I would work in collaboration with the local, state and federal governments to resuscitate the Warri and Koko seaports, the Warri Industrial Park and other critical infrastructure.
“I will also engage critical stakeholders to create employment opportunities and empower our teeming youths and women through agriculture, fisheries and skills acquisition programmes,” he assured.
Mulade said he was not seeking the House of Representatives seat for political spectacle, but to bridge existing gaps through constructive advocacy, stakeholder engagement and an inclusive approach.
“It is pertinent to state categorically that I am not here for a political funfair gathering. I am here to stand in the gap and close the gap through constructive advocacy, engagement and an inclusive approach.
“I am not a political mole or placeholder. I am not an emulator or photocopy, neither am I a copyright candidate. I am the independent and original voice seeking to represent the good and peace-loving people of Warri Federal Constituency,” he said.
The NDP candidate also called on the people of the constituency to put aside ethnic divisions and embrace peace, unity and collective development.
“It’s imperative to state that we cannot continue to fight ourselves. We cannot continue to deprive ourselves, and we cannot continue to destroy ourselves.
“Therefore, now is the time for us to rise above the confines of our individualistic and ethnic considerations and build a broader-based relationship founded on trust, peace and unity across Warri Federal Constituency for development,” he admonished.
Mulade added: “I, Comrade Mulade Blessing Sheriff, PhD, the candidate of the National Democratic Party (NDP), the LIGHT OF HOPE for Warri Federal Constituency, wish to use this medium to humbly present myself as a critical stakeholder for quality, people-oriented and inclusive representation that will deepen unity, peace, progress and development among the people of Warri Federal Constituency and Delta State at large.”
Also speaking, the NDP Chairman in Delta State, Hon. Chief Emeka Bidokwu, described Mulade as a man of the people who, he said, was prepared to represent the constituency in the Green Chamber and bring accelerated development to the people of Warri.
The NDP Delta Central Senatorial Candidate, Hon. Nathan Esiri Osume, who was represented by Hon. Alex Ogude, described Mulade as “the light of hope” for Warri Federal Constituency.
Similarly, Hon. Kingsley Abugewa, the NDP House of Representatives candidate, who spoke in solidarity and expressed his total support for Mulade, described him as a trusted and tested candidate with proven capacity to deliver the dividends of democracy.
Speaking on behalf of the Itsekiri ethnic nationality, Mr. Frank Egunje; Chief Okiemute Itemure, representing the Urhobo ethnic nationality; and Hon. Ambassador Adam Mabo, speaking for the Ijaw ethnic nationality, all expressed solidarity and support for Mulade.
They said their positions reflected a collective desire for effective representation, peace, unity and development, signalling their total support for Chief Comrade Mulade Sheriff ahead of the 2027 House of Representatives election.
