The Kano State APC Integrity Committee has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, declaring that it will mobilise support capable of delivering more than two million votes for the party in the forthcoming elections.
The committee made the commitment on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, when its leadership paid a courtesy visit to the Kano State Commissioner for Information, Comrade Abdu Abdullahi Waiya, at his office in Kano.
The visit, according to the leadership of the committee, was aimed at strengthening cooperation between stakeholders within the APC, appreciating individuals contributing to the development of the state, and encouraging effective communication of government policies and programmes to the people.
Speaking during the visit, the Chairman of the Kano State APC Integrity Committee, Hon. Ado Yalo of Media TV, said the organisation remained committed to the progress and stability of the APC and would deploy its grassroots network and communication platforms to mobilise support for the party.
Yalo said the committee would intensify its engagement with party supporters, community stakeholders, youths and other relevant groups across the state in preparation for the forthcoming elections.
He declared that the committee was targeting more than two million votes for the APC, stressing that the objective would require sustained grassroots mobilisation, unity among party members and effective communication of the achievements and programmes of the party. He also called on APC members to place the collective interest of the party above personal differences, arguing that unity and internal discipline would be critical to the party’s electoral success.
The committee’s visit also highlighted the growing importance of strategic communication in contemporary politics, particularly at a time when political parties increasingly rely on conventional media, digital platforms and grassroots communication networks to reach voters.
Responding, the Kano State Commissioner for Information, Comrade Abdu Abdullahi Waiya, commended the committee for its efforts to promote the activities of the APC and contribute to public awareness of development initiatives in the state.
Waiya acknowledged the importance of responsible communication in shaping public understanding of government policies and programmes, while encouraging the committee to sustain its engagement with communities and continue promoting issues capable of contributing to the development of Kano State.
The Commissioner urged members of the organisation to remain committed to peaceful political participation, constructive engagement and the overall interest of the state.
He stressed that political mobilisation should go hand in hand with development advocacy, adding that stakeholders had a responsibility to contribute positively to the peace, unity and socio-economic advancement of Kano.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for discussions on the role of media and grassroots organisations in strengthening political participation and communicating government policies to citizens.
At the end of the visit, the Kano State APC Integrity Committee presented a special award of recognition to Commissioner Waiya in appreciation of what it described as his contributions to the development of information management, media engagement and public communication in Kano State.
The presentation was described by the committee as a gesture of appreciation for the Commissioner’s efforts and his role in promoting communication between the government and the people.
The development comes as political activities and mobilisation efforts gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, with political stakeholders across Kano and other parts of Northern Nigeria positioning themselves for the forthcoming electoral contest.
For the APC, analysts say, maintaining internal cohesion, strengthening grassroots structures and effectively communicating its programmes will remain important factors as the party prepares for the next electoral cycle.
The Kano State APC Integrity Committee said it would continue to work with party stakeholders and other relevant groups to promote unity, grassroots mobilisation and the electoral fortunes of the APC, while also supporting initiatives that contribute to the development of Kano State.
