Meet Ada Abok Ajiji as Afizere People Set to Elect ACCDA President

“A golden fish has no hiding place,” goes the popular adage. The saying aptly describes leaders who have sacrificed immensely and distinguished themselves as heroes and heroines in the service of their communities.

This aptly describes Ada Abok Ajiji, popularly known among his people as Abok Alhaji. His network, influence and popularity extend beyond Plateau State to other parts of Nigeria and beyond.

Ada Abok Ajiji is a bona fide indigene of Fobur District in Jos East Local Government Area of Plateau State. He is a man of charisma, competence and dexterity, with a proven record of service and leadership.

He retired as a Senior Principal Officer with the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA). Before his retirement, he served as Secretary of the Senior Staff Association of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Calabar Port, for two terms, from 2008 to 2016. He later served as Chairman of the same association at Calabar Port from 2016 to 2020.

The presidential hopeful was also a one-time Students’ Union Government (SUG) President of the College of Education, Gindiri, from 1985 to 1986.

He obtained his National Certificate in Education (NCE) from the prestigious College of Education, Gindiri. Between 1982 and 1983, he taught as a primary school teacher at L.E.A. Laminga in Jos East Local Government Area of Plateau State.

He subsequently worked with the Plateau State Ministry of Lands and Survey from 1987 to 1989.

A great Josite, Ada Abok Ajiji graduated from the Department of Psychology and holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Psychology.

He has also been a committed member of ACCDA since 1984, demonstrating decades of dedication to the organisation and the Afizere people.

As delegates search for a credible, egalitarian and experienced leader who can restore hope, confidence and unity among the Afizere people, Ada Abok Ajiji stands out as a compassionate servant-leader, equipped with the wisdom, experience and commitment required to take the Afizere nation to greater heights.

As a respected elder and statesman, he is committed to reviving and repositioning the famous Igoon Izere, celebrated every April, with new innovations and an all-encompassing approach that will promote the culture, unity and development of the Afizere people.

He also places a strong emphasis on education and human capital development. The standard of education in Afizere land, both formal and non-formal, will be prioritised under his leadership, in recognition of the saying that no nation can rise above the standard of its educational system.

Ada Abok Ajiji is also committed to working in synergy with the Women Wing, AYM, Elders Council and Traditional Council to achieve greater unity and sustainable development.

With this rich résumé, extensive leadership experience and longstanding commitment to the Afizere people, the cap fits no one better than Ada Abok Ajiji, popularly known as Abok Alhaji.
