In the quiet, rolling landscapes of Kebbi South Senatorial District—where farmlands stretch across the plains and communities thrive on tradition and resilience—one name has increasingly become synonymous with service, development, and humanitarian empathy: Distinguished Senator Garba Musa Maidoki.
On Thursday, the Zuru Emirates Catholic Democratic Movement (ZECDM) formally announced its endorsement of Senator Maidoki ahead of the 2027 General Election, citing his “vision, capability, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people.”
The endorsement, delivered in a statement signed by the Movement’s chairman, read:
“We, the Zuru Emirates Catholic Democratic Movement, are pleased to endorse and support Senator Musa Garba Maidok’s candidacy in the upcoming 2027 General Election.
We believe Senator Maidok is a capable leader with a vision for a better Nigeria. We have confidence in his ability to serve our nation effectively.
We hereby indemnify Senator Musa Garba Maidok and request that ZECDM grants him the necessary clearance to participate in the election.”
Since his emergence as senator representing Kebbi South, Senator Maidoki has steadily built a reputation rooted in action rather than rhetoric. His development initiatives have cut across multiple sectors, drawing commendation even from critics and political rivals who admit that “he works with sincerity, not spectacle.”
Some of his most notable contributions—celebrated widely in Kebbi South communities—include:
Roads that once isolated farming communities are now accessible. The senator has supported the rehabilitation of feeder roads linking villages in Zuru, Danko-Wasagu, Fakai, and Sakaba. These improved routes have boosted trade, reduced transportation costs, and enhanced emergency access to remote settlements.
Under his constituency empowerment scheme, Senator Maidoki facilitated:
startup grants for young entrepreneurs,
agricultural equipment for farmers,
tailoring and welding tools for artisans, and
ICT and skills training programs targeting unemployed youths.
Recognizing healthcare as a vital concern in Kebbi South, the senator has supported ongoing refurbishments of community health centers. He has also distributed medical supplies, sponsored medical outreach exercises, and assisted families facing critical medical challenges.
From scholarships to classroom renovations, Senator Maidoki’s educational interventions have eased the burdens of parents and opened doors for students across Zuru Emirate. Some schools now boast better learning environments thanks to solar-powered lighting and improved teaching materials.
Beyond physical projects, Senator Maidoki is admired for his personal humanitarian contributions—quiet, consistent acts that touch everyday lives.
food palliatives during hard economic periods,
assistance to widows and vulnerable families,
sponsorship of orphans through school,
and emergency support for victims of fire, flood, and displacement.
For many in Zuru Emirates, these gestures are what shaped the strong emotional connection between the senator and his constituents.
According to insiders within the Zuru Emirates Catholic Democratic Movement, the decision to endorse Senator Maidoki followed months of consultation, assessment of his performance, and engagement with community leaders.
“Our endorsement is not political—it is moral. It is based on what we see, what we feel, and what our people have experienced. Senator Maidoki represents hope, stability, and a future where development is people-centered.”
The Movement’s endorsement is expected to significantly boost the senator’s grassroots political strength, especially in communities where religious and social organizations wield substantial influence.
As the 2027 general election draws nearer, the political landscape in Kebbi State continues to shift. But among the voices speaking loudly today are those of ordinary people—farmers, traders, youths, elders—who believe that leadership must be earned through service.
For Senator Garba Musa Maidoki, the ZECDM endorsement is more than a political gesture. It is a recognition of years spent walking alongside his people, listening to their needs, and responding in ways that leave lasting impact.
Whether in the halls of the National Assembly or the dusty footpaths of rural Kebbi, the senator’s message has remained consistent: service, development, and humanity first.
