KEY IN TO FAIN’S VISION, CHIEF MRS JEMIBEWON TASKS NIGERIAN WOMEN.

The National Secretary of the Farmers Aggregators Initiative of Nigeria (FAIN), Chief Mrs Modupe Jemibewon has urged Nigerian Women to key into the vision of the Organization for active participation in the Nation’s Agricultural sector for economic empowerment and food Security .
According to Chief Mrs Jemibewon, the vision of the farmers Aggregators Initiative of Nigeria amongst others, were gender inclusivity, access to land, funding, farming equipment and most importantly, ensuring that the voices of women counts on Agricultural related issues, resonate deeply with the yearnings aspirations of Nigeria women and youth for inclusion in the Nation’s Agricultural sector.
Chief Mrs Jemibewon made the appeal recently at a one day Summit on Agriculture, organized by the Farmers Aggregators Initiative of Nigeria( FAIN) with the theme, Mainstreaming Gender into the Nation’s Agricultural sector for Women and youth Empowerment: Developing Road map for understanding Gender policy on Agriculture and Export Trade in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, held at the Nigeria National Merit Award House, Maitama Abuja.
She further explained that in the face of daunting challenges,the Nation’s women still remain resilient, and has also demonstrated unwavering Commitments and dedication towards contributing to the Nation’s Agricultural sector, adding that the presence of women in virtually all the major farms in the Country, was a pointer to the fact that, if carried along in decision making and given access to land and made funds available, the Nation’s Agricultural sector shall witness a boost that would definitely translate to food Security and economic prosperity.
Chief Mrs Jemibewon further assured that the farmers Aggregators Initiative of Nigeria (FAIN),would served not just only as a platform for advocacy for gender parity in the Nation’s Agricultural sector, but also a rallying point for economic empowerment for women.
Continuing , the Secretary-general said the role of women in ensuring food Security in the nation can not be overemphasized, stating that, though most of the tedious jobs involved are performed by Men,but that before the food produce gets to the common masses, women plays significant role, she said.
She called on women not to be discouraged but keep hope alive as the farmers Aggregators Initiative Nigeria(FAIN),was committed to ensuring that Nigeria’s women gets what rightly belongs to them as far as the Nation’s Agricultural sector was concerned.
Corroborating Chief Mrs Jemibewon’s assertions on farmers Aggregators Initiative of Nigeria’s advocacy for gender inclusivity, the executive Director of the Organization, Mrs Cornelius Eneojo Agenyi ,earlier in his speech, said , Considering the role women plays in managing the home , if empowered, encouraged and Supported for active participation in the Nation’s Agricultural sector, the nation would experience food Security and economic prosperity.
