Kogi Deputy Gov To Teachers: “We Haven’t Come To Lord Over You But To Serve”

The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Comrade Joel Salifu, has reiterated the dedication of the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to serving the people faithfully rather than exerting unnecessary authority over them while urging the people to always correct them whenever they are making the wrong decision.

In a Press statement signed by the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor Mr Unubi Emmanuel, Comrade Joel during the gathering with the Ofu Local Government chapter of the Progressive Teachers Forum at his residence in Ejule, Ofu Local Government Area, emphasized that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is committed to leading Kogi State towards prosperity, stressing that the administration’s accomplishments in the past 11 months are just the beginning of what lies ahead for the state.

He stated that the brief period of Governor Ododo’s tenure is evidence that he is destined by God to serve the people. He commended former Governor Yahaya Bello for ensuring a smooth transition to a worthy successor for the people of the state.

Deputy Governor Salifu mentioned that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is deeply concerned about the challenges facing the state and is fully prepared to lead Kogi towards prosperity. He indicated that the accomplishments of the current administration in the past 11 months are just a glimpse of what lies ahead for the state.

Highlighting their grassroots connection, he assured that both he and the governor will remain in close contact with the public to understand their concerns. He encouraged the group to provide feedback from the general populace regarding their opinions on government policies to help inform their decisions.

He expressed gratitude to the teachers for their visit and assured them that his doors are always open for advice and suggestions on how the government can better serve the people.

In his opening remark, the leader of the Ofu Local Government Progressive Teachers Forum, Hon. Ahmed Labaran, mentioned that they visited to extend their greetings for the Christmas and New Year celebrations. He reiterated the group’s commitment to supporting the success of the current administration in the state.

On his part, the Member representing Ofu constituency at the State House of Assembly, Hon Shehu Seidu Amodu urged the group to be steadfast and support the government of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to succeed. He said they should avoid sycophancy and unnecessary praise singing but be sincere in their loyalty and support for the government.

Salifu encouraged the group to provide feedback from the general populace regarding their opinions on government policies, assuring them that his door is always open for advice and suggestions on how the government could better serve the people.
