…urged them to remain steadfast in their support for the APC

The First Lady of Kogi State, Her Excellency Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, has graciously distributed palliatives to women’s groups in Kogi East as part of her commitment to alleviating the hardships faced by the people. The event brought together Vice Chairpersons, the Wives of the Council Chairmen, Divisional Women Leaders, and various women associations from the zone.

The palliatives comprised cash, clothing, and food items. The distribution was conducted by the wife of the Deputy Governor, Deaconess Margaret Eleojo Salifu, on behalf of the First Lady of the state at Ejule in Ofu Local Government Area.

In her address, the First Lady stated that the initiative was the first of Its kind in the zone, designed to complement the governor’s efforts in acknowledging and motivating women to navigate the current economic challenges while also encouraging their continued loyalty to the All Progressives Congress. She urged them to return home and enlighten their families and friends about the significant achievements of the governor since his assumption of office.

In his remarks, the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Comrade Joel Salifu, expressed gratitude to former Governor Yahaya Bello for providing the state with a governor who is both loyal and trustworthy to the people. He commended the First Lady for her generosity towards women and for assisting them amidst the prevailing hardships occasioned by global economic conditions.

He lauded the governor for fostering a cordial relationship with the workforce, which has earned him the accolade of the most worker-friendly governor in Nigeria, noting that the most fitting reward for a commendable governor is to rally support for his success. He urged the women’s groups to extend their group down to the ward and unit levels to increase the power of the organization.

According to him, the initiative should not be misconstrued as empowerment but rather as a palliative aimed at offering support and encouragement to women. He implored the women to remain faithful and loyal to reap the benefits from the party.

In his contribution, the Director-General of Kogi State Community Watch and Ancillary Matters, Hon. Muhammed Nasiru Alfa, advised the women’s groups to be loyal to the party to fully realize its benefits. He asserted that nothing except God, would impede the governor and his Deputy from serving two terms, urging the women to be honest, loyal, and support the governor and his Deputy to take Kogi to Its desired place in the country.

On behalf of the beneficiaries, Hajia Rhoda Abdullahi, Vice Chairperson of Dekina Local Government Area, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the First Lady of Kogi State and the administration of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for their concerted efforts in transforming the economic landscape and improving the conditions of the state’s residents. She affirmed that the women stand in solidarity with Ododo, assuring that the upcoming election will show their capacity and appreciation for the commendable initiatives of the current administration.
