Kogi Governor, Usman Ododo Commemorates Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary

As Nigeria celebrates its 65th Independence Anniversary, Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has called on citizens to renew their love for the country and work together in faith, unity, and courage.
In his Independence Day message, Governor Ododo reflected on the sacrifices of the nation’s founding fathers and the resilience of Nigerians.
The governor also paid tribute to the victims of a recent boat mishap in Ibaji Local Government Area, which claimed several lives.
He commiserated with the families of the victims and pledged to improve safety measures in riverine communities.
He highlighted the administration’s development initiatives, including free and compulsory education, healthcare reforms, infrastructural renewal, and agricultural expansion.
He emphasized the importance of laying foundations for the future of Kogi State’s children.
The governor also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reforms, noting that they have set a template for sustainable development.
He urged citizens to support the president’s initiatives.
As Nigerians celebrate their independence, Governor Ododo called on citizens to shun division, rise above fear and doubt, and work together towards a brighter future.
He emphasized that the destiny of Nigeria is in the hands of its citizens.
The governor concluded by praying that the labors of Nigeria’s heroes past would never be in vain and that Kogi State would continue to shine as the “Confluence of Opportunities.”
He wished Nigerians a happy 65th Independence Day.
