Kogi Govt Launches Initiative to Empower SMEs with Accessible Finance

Lokoja, Dec. 2, 2025

The Kogi Enterprise Development Agency (KEDA), in partnership with Jaiz Bank, Lokoja, is set to roll out financial support to business owners across Kogi State.

This gesture reaffirms the Agency’s commitment to empowering entrepreneurs through expanded access to finance and strengthened collaborations with financial institutions.

The initiative aims to boost entrepreneurship and stimulate economic growth by providing accessible loan options to both registered and unregistered enterprises, aligning with the broader economic development agenda of the Kogi State Government.

Notably, the loan offerings come with an attractive interest rate of 15-17% per annum, significantly lower than those of conventional or commercial banks, making it an ideal opportunity for entrepreneurs to access affordable capital and drive business growth.

KEDA recognizes the numerous challenges faced by small and medium-scale businesses, particularly in accessing capital required to sustain and grow their operations. In response, the Agency has adopted a proactive approach to ease these challenges by creating opportunities for financing and building strategic partnerships that benefit business owners.

As part of this commitment, KEDA recently concluded a successful engagement with Jaiz Bank, resulting in a financing window designed for entrepreneurs in the state. The partnership introduces two loan categories:

1. Category A: ₦100,000 – ₦500,000
Requirements: National Identification Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN)
2. Category B: ₦1,000,000 – ₦5,000,000
Requirements: Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registration, National Identification Number (NIN), and Bank Verification Number (BVN)

These financing opportunities reflect KEDA’s dedication to removing barriers to business growth, enabling entrepreneurs to expand and sustain their enterprises. The loan facility comes with no processing fees and requires self-guarantee.

Business owners interested in accessing these loan facilities should visit the KEDA Office at No. 26, Federal University Road, Lokoja, to meet with the designated desk officer for guidance and processing.

KEDA will continue to consolidate the State Government’s achievements and strengthen support structures for entrepreneurs, creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and contribute to Kogi State’s economic development.

Signed:
Management,
Kogi Enterprise Development Agency (KEDA)
