Kogi Guber: Makama threatens to arrest killers of Tijani Amodu Okpogolo
The Director General, Kogi State Special Task Force on illegal smuggling of fire arms and other related crimes Elder Friday Sani Makama has threatened to arrest the killers of Tijani Amodu Okpogolo who was killed by suspected political thugs.
Late Okpogolo was killed on Monday 14th August 2023 by gunmen in Anyigba at about 9:30PM.
Elder Makama disclosed that credible intelligence has shown that political thugs working for the opposition Social Development Party, (SDP) were responsible for the killing.
According to him, the task force is searching for the killers of the innocent boy and the weapon used to perpetuate the crime.
” For those who are confused about my mission in Anyigba and it’s environs, I am out with my team to fish out the perpetuators of those who killed the innocent boy and their riffles that was used. We will clamp down on them.
” No political thugs or hoodlums causing trouble in Kogi State will be spared. Intelligence report at our disposal has revealed that political thugs loyal to SDP killed him. There won’t be any hiding place for this disgruntled criminal elements who have continued to cause pain and make life unbearable for our People”
He alleged further that, immediately after the killing, some politicians who are major suspect in sponsoring the killing of Okpogolo had since paid and converted military personnels who are supposed to be performing their duties at checkpoints to thier private residence.
According to him, this was done in order to cover up their evil act particularly because their were survivors in the attack who are already giving useful information to security agencies to effect the arrest of those behind the crime.
