Kogi Police Ambush: 3 Officers Killed in Egbe Attack

A deadly ambush on a police patrol team along Okoloke-Pategi Road in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State, has claimed the lives of three officers.
The attack, which occurred on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, has sparked a massive manhunt for the perpetrators.

According to the Kogi State Police Command, the hoodlums emerged from the bush and attacked the team during a routine patrol.
The command’s spokesperson, SP William Ovye Aya, confirmed the incident and stated that a tactical team has been deployed to trail the attackers and restore normalcy in the area.
He said the State Commissioner of Police, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, has ordered a full-scale investigation into the incident and urged the public to provide credible information to aid in apprehending the suspects.
He assured the public that the police command is working in synergy with other security agencies to ensure justice is served.
