Kogi Progressive Stakeholders Forum Rallies Grassroot Support for Tinubu’s Re-election.

Stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kogi state, under the auspices of the Kogi Progressive Stakeholders Forum (KPSF), have declared total support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

KPSF said they are out to ensure unity within the party and plug all noticeable gaps.

Chairman of the forum and former Governor of Kogi State, Captain Idris Wada, said the newly convened forum was established to mobilise and unite grassroot supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) toward the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Speaking at the inaugural meeting of KPSF in Lokoja on Wednesday, Wada said the forum was designed to serve as a platform for collective engagement, consultation and mobilization at the grassroots level ahead of future political engagements.

He called on APC members across the state to embrace peace, unity and internal cohesion, stressing that only a united party could effectively support the president’s reform agenda and guarantee electoral success.

According to him, inclusiveness remains a core principle of the forum, noting that all party members, irrespective of status or tendency, must be carried along in the collective effort to strengthen the APC and deepen democratic participation. Vice Chairman of the forum, Alhaji Suleiman Baba Ali, expressed optimism that President Tinubu will get overwhelming votes from Kogi electorate in 2027.

According to him, President Tinubu’s leadership has continued to inspire confidence across the country, noting that the reforms being undertaken by the administration would ultimately reposition Nigeria for sustainable growth and development.

He called on APC members and supporters across the 21 local government areas of Kogi State to remain steadfast, united, and focused on consolidating the gains of the party, stressing that collective effort at the grassroots remains key to electoral success.

Senator Sunday Karimi, who represents Kogi West, urged members to voice out their grievances and avoid dissention.

He acknowledged that some members of the party are not happy and assured that they will be heard and all issues addressed.

“We know there are so many people in this state that are not happy and if we leave them like that, we will not win 2027 elections. We want Mr. President to win and win well.

“We are not fighting anybody but we not pretenders. We are not liars. We are truthful. We are people that love Mr. President, we love Kogi and want to move the state forward. Voice out your grievances and insha Allah, there will be changes. When we have a situation where we can not tell each other the truth then we are in trouble,” he said.

Former Director General, National Productivity Centre, Dr. Kashim Akor, said many party members are aggrieved but have no one to complain to.

Dr. Akor said the forum has create an avenue for aggrieved members of the party to channel their grievances with expectation that it will be addressed.

Retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Abutu Yaro, tasked members to turn out en mass for the ongoing APC e-registration exercise.

AIG Abutu said Kogi must poll higher votes for President Tinubu’s reelection that it did in 2023.

He urged the stakeholders to return to their respective wards and communities, and mobilize more residents to join the party.

A former local government chairman and lawmaker, Hon. Ganiyu Salawudeen (Erukutu), called on the reconciliation committee recently set up by President Tinubu to visit Kogi state.

He said current leadership of APC in the state is one sided and political appointments are also lopsided.

Earlier, the chairman of the forum led members in a chorus endorsing President Tinubu for a second term in office. He subsequently called for a motion to formally adopt the endorsement.

The motion was unanimously supported, as the entire house rose in agreement, affirming their collective endorsement of President Tinubu’s second-term bid.

The meeting ended with renewed calls for loyalty to the party, sustained grassroots mobilisation and continued support for the APC-led federal government.
