Kogi receives two truck loads of Palliative, sets for another round of palliatives, support

The Kogi State Government has received two truck loads of Palliative, with more expected.

The truck loads were received by the three member Committee Inaugurated by the State government, Commissioner for Humanitarian, Hajiya Rabiatu Okute, Director-General Kogi State Social Investment Programme Agency, Hajiya Aishat Oyiza Omade and State Emergency & Management Agency (SEMA) Hon. Muktar Atima, told journalists that the two trucks was received yesterday, was offloaded today with more still on its way.

Speaking, the Commissioner for Humanitarian, Hajiya Rabiatu Okute, said the effort marks another steps in the mission of the State Government to provide palliative support to the needy.

The Commissioner assured of a seamless distribution process that will reach the intended beneficiaries, assured of Gov. Ododo’s commitment to impacting lives positively.

Also speaking, the Director-General, Kogi State Social Investment Programme Agency, Hajiya Aishat Oyiza Omade said the State Government collective efforts is geared towards bringing comfort and relief to those facing challenges.

The DG said the palliatives will reach every strata of the society, assuring that significant initiative is underway to provide essential palliative care to the vulnerable in the State.

Reacting, the Executive Secretary, Kogi State Emergency & Management Agency (SEMA) Hon. Muktar Atima, described the gesture of Gov. Usman Ahmed as compassionate, says the present administration is running with human face, assured that the best is yet to come for the people of the State.

The Members of the committee assured that Gov. Ododo will ensure that those in need receive the necessary assistance and care during this challenging economic time.

The Member, Representing Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency and also a membership of House Committee on NEMA, Hon. Paul H Gowon was also at the warehouse to check the progress of the palliative reception and the security put in place to secure the foodstuffs.

In a statement issued by Dami Adenuga, the Head of Media, Communications & ICT, Kogi State Social Investment Program Agency, noted that there will be a similar Committees at the local governments to ensure seamless distribution of the palliatives, in line with the promises made to the people of the state by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
